2024 Summer League Teams
(Competing in FRA Summer League)
LEAGUE / TEAM INFO
STARS Basketball will be hosting tryouts on May 12th and May 19th (see tryout times based on grade/gender below) for STARS Teams that will be competing in the FRA Performance League (Franklin Road Academy).
Compared to other STARS teams (Spring and Winter), summer teams represent the lowest commitment of time from a family/athlete’s perspective. Participation in a Summer League with STARS allows your athlete to get in the gym consistently twice a week for approximately 8 weeks (1 CONSISTENT weeknight for a game; 1 CONSISTENT practice night). The current plan is for STARS Teams to start practices the week of May 27th. With summer travel, out-of-town camps, etc., we expect players to miss practices/games from time-to-time; this is expected and OK.

- Rising 3rd Grade Boys – 6:15 – 7:25 p.m. @ TOA Sports Performance Center
- Rising 4th Grade Boys – 6:15 – 7:25 p.m. @ TOA Sports Performance Center
- Rising 5th Grade Boys – 7:30 – 8:45 p.m. @ TOA Sports Performance Center
- Rising 6th Grade Boys – 7:30 – 8:45 p.m. @ TOA Sports Performance Center
- Rising 4th Grade Girls – 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. @ Lipscomb Academy (Main gym)
- Rising 5th Grade Girls – 6:10 – 7:10 p.m. @ Lipscomb Academy (Main gym)
- Rising 6th Grade Girls – 7:20 – 8:20 p.m. @ Lipscomb Academy (Main gym)
STARS WILL FORM TEAMS FOR:
- BOYS (Rising 3rd grade through Rising 6th grade) Based on rising grade (2024-2025 school year)
- GIRLS (Rising 4th grade through Rising 6th grade) Based on rising grade (2024-2025 school year)
- The number of teams formed within each gender/grade, will be based on number of athletes at tryouts/talent level
- Boys: 1 – 3 teams / grade
- Girls: 1 team / grade
- 9 – 10 players per team
With summer travel, out-of-town camps, etc., we expect players to miss practices/games from time to time; this is expected and OK.
*NOTE: Due to league options being limited and also the quality of teams within a league being so varied/diverse for rising 7th and 8th grade boys and girls, we will NOT be forming teams/hosting tryouts for rising 7th/8th Boys and Girls. STRUCTURE OF FRA PERFORMANCE LEAGUE
- June 3 through July 25, 2024
- Games will be played on one of the following nights (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays)
- Games beginning at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m.
- League Dates: Week of June 3, Week of June 10, Week of June 17, Week of July 8, Week of July 15 (tournament begins), Week of July 22 (tournament ends)
- Off Weeks/Dead Period: Week of June 24 and Week of July 1 – NO games player during these weeks due to TSSAA Dead Period
- ALL games will be played at Franklin Road Academy

STARS Team practices (90-minute weekly practices): Teams will begin practice the week of May 27th. Practices will take place at TOA Sports Performance Center (215 Gothic Court, Franklin, TN, 37067)
Tryout Fee: $35 (early bird price) – if registered by 4/30; 5/1 and later – $40 (tryout fee covers both tryout sessions)
- FRA Performance League – $395 (net price $370)
- Includes League Fee of $1,250, Coach Stipend, Jersey fee, and Practice Time
- Return jersey at end of the season for a $25 refund (net price $370)
